David, I think you nailed it. I share your opinion on them playing tight. All the sims in the world put together can't recreate that "choke" factor that was hanging over their head. Like most teams once they get over that "invisible" hurdle they leave it behind them and cruise. Their '76 Series results kind of supports that. In that one they totally dominated the Yanks in a 4 game sweep. It would be interesting to see the 75 series replayed with Rice healthy. What an amazing 9th place hitter he was, LOL !

It was mentioned earlier that the 1967 Cardinals have trouble winning replays, well I'm entering the final weekend of that '67 season and the Cardinals
have yet to wrap this GD pennant up as the Giants continue to chase the Cardinals with 3 games to go. In fact this race has turned out about as good the AL
race I'm having. But in playing 159 Cardinals games this season (1967) and 18 other completed replays, there is no way this Cardinals team impresses me
that much (93-66 .585) and it looks like I won't even get to their RL Pytha number. Yes Bob Gibson missed action from July 15-Sep 7, but I think even if he
hadn't missed those games, the 1975 Reds were a far superior team that I would rank in the Top 5 IMO, and the 1967 Cardinals maybe somewhere in the top 50.
Again, they may not even win my '67 replay, though they lead by 2 with three to play. I'll probably finish everything up in the next day or two and get
things posted on my site at that time.
