When I originally purchased APC Baseball, I envisioned season replays using the Rules>Quick League Setup Option of "Major Transactions" only and having random injuries based on ratings and the CM responsible for roster management of CM controlled teams. I liked how the injury factors in APC were much more realistic than DMB but, now, I'm thinking it may be overdone? After a few weeks, I realized that the Major Transactions Only setting coupled with injuries left rosters woefully "short". (primarily because many players already were not "available" the full length of season). So, I restarted and placed all players active 1Jan-Dec 31 to give the CM more flexibility/choice and placed players with teams they played the most. (Negated trades and transactions). That HAS helped player availability to an extent but, while managing ONE team I find myself STILL making far to many roster checks/changes vice the CM for the CM controlled teams. It's fatiguing (but, fun)...
SO for 1970 replay I'm strongly considering another "way" to play. I don't like using daily lineups and I think using the CM for ALL transactions negates why some moves were made in the first place. I'd like to have the major transactions made, the CM control rosters well enough (for the most part) and manage/play more games. But, allow the CM flexibility viced being locked into all minor xactions.
Question: Rules>Usage Rules. I play now with 100% Usage Target and No Penalty for overuse and base on PA/IP, AND apply that to splits AND reasonable rest. So, If I CHANGE SETTINGS RULEs/ROSTER MANAGEMENT to use MAJOR Transactions ONLY but, only allow current game injuries (vice unlimited Injuries as I play now) will the CM still regulate player usage (all other things considered equal) to around/near/about the 100% mark (+/-) ??
(I don't want a player who was hobbled by injury(s) a lot in real life as example, and maybe only managed 100~ games played/400PA~ or a pitcher with sore arm problems -and limited to 22~ starts/140IP~ to suddenly be used 140 games/600PAs or make 30 starts/200IP as examples).
In other words, will the CM STILL regulate usage well to near as real life without injuries or overuse penalty if NOT using daily lineups and ALL Transactions??
Many of you far more experienced with replays would know.
Remember, I don't want to use Daily Lineups nor Additional Transactions to allow the CM the same look back as I have in selecting players but, I want reasonable reality for usage based on players who were more injury prone overall - they still wouldn't be Ripken/Gehrig like in their durability. I would only use temporary/same game injuries instead.
This would alleviate much of the daily roster management for me and allow more play, less interference with the CM to make more realistic decisions.
